Unknown flash hider

Does anyone know what this flash hider is/what its used for(military or civilian)?

Stamped on one side of it is 19200 12976830
MFR 3S679


I slid a 30 caliber bullet through it and it seemed like thats what it was meant for...by that i mean that the bullet didnt touch the walls of the flash hider but was very close. It seemed to me that if it were fired from a barrel through the flash hider that it would work perfectly since the bullet would be exactly on center.

The picture is of the flash hider compared to a standard 5.56 A2 flash hider. This mystery flash hider has slots cut all the way around it rather than a little over half way around like the A2 flash hider.

Looks like either a Spanish CETME or the one that goes on the FR-7 and FR-8 Spanish Mausers. (They might be the same since the 7 and 8 are intended as trainers for the CETME)

hhmmm. we do a lot of coatings for the military on lots of gun parts at work and sometimes they throw some of them into the scrap metal. thats where i got this one. it doesnt seem likely it would be for anything other than a US rifle as i believe we only coat parts for our military. to my knowledge(which is quite often, inferior) none of those rifles are issued to US troops. correct if im wrong however, because im definitly not sure of this.

Not unless it suppresses flash, mounts a bayonet, launches grenades, and fires blanks.

It's kind of hard to beat the coolness factor on the regular FAL short combo device.

If anyone has a use for these flash hiders and would like one, I have 3 or 4 laying around that I don't ever see myself using. If you pay for shipping, I'll send ya one for free! I figure that someone is bound to find a gun to put them on, perhaps a custom build. If you want one, chances are that you know more about them than me and therefor, you should have one !

25/32in.x24TPI (RH twist)...in other words: good luck finding something that it fits on. That said, there *might* be an adapter floating around somewhere for it (though I doubt that it would be worth the expenditure for a simple birdcage type flash suppressor).
