I'm looking to load my 327 with some .314 88gr LRN bullets that I found at an estate sale but I'm not seeing anything in the 88gr weight. Do I just round up to a 90gr .314 lead bullet that is listed in my books? My thought is that a heavier bullet of the same diameter and material will produce higher pressure and therefore will be safer than rounding down to a 85gr FMJ bullet. Is my thinking correct? How do you work up load data on a bullet you don't have data for safely? A friend sent me a link on the Hodgon's site that says you can make load data for trail boss by filling the case to the base of the bullet, weighing the powder, and multiplying by .7 to establish a start weight. Has anyone tried that?
