Well I got the Powder River drop in trigger kit in this week for my XDM 5.25, and finally sat down this evening to install it. Keep in mind I'm pretty ham fisted with anything mechanical so I launched into it with a lot of trepidation. Even a caveman could do this!

Feels excellent but of course haven't had a chance to actually shoot it yet. Trigger pull length is greatly decreased, went from 6.6 lb's to 4.2 lb's on my trigger scale, and an incredibly short reset for this type of gun.

Now I'm going to have to change out the XD Tactical and the XDM 4.5.

I had the same kit installed in the same gun I think there was a 3 lbs spring included in the kit so I had them install that. You'll enjoy shooting it. I can't remember now how it originally shot.

PRP trigger kits are amazing! I have installed the drop in triggers in all 5 of my XD's. Light trigger pull with a short reset. Really has improved my groups.

I have done the same with great results. Too bad manufacturers haven't figured out how to do this in the first place.

Oh well. Great business for Powder River,Springer, Volquartsen, Clark, Apex, and a couple of dozen or so great aftermarket parts makers.

My XDs .45 had a very heavy pull out of the box. With the PR kit, it's excellent.

I have 3 XDs, an XD45, an XDm 3.3 9mm and the XDs. All great guns and all far better with PR kits in them.

Just put one in an older XD45

Results were exactly what Powder River advertised and on track with the comments shown above. Patience is a virtue on this job. You can always take a little more material off but it's gonna be hell to get any to go back on. I recommend a good oilstone for fitting the sear and striker safety lever. A file works just fine on the back of the trigger for over travel adjustment. Pay close attention to the downward travel of the striker safety lever. If the lever sits up too high you are gonna have a hard time getting the slide back off the frame. The stock safety lever moved downward to the point that it was nearly flush with the back polymer slide rail. I duplicated this on the PR striker safety lever and it worked just fine.

By the way, I got the drop in kit, so no work at all was required needing actual skill. Everything fit and went in just as the videos show.

By the way after I had mine installed by the the gun smith I've had to pull the trigger prior to disassembly unlike prior to the replacement. I was told that expected. Is it the same for others?
