In addition to shooting the PPSh I have fired a Glock18 and it is a joke. Fun toy but so hard to control that it is almost useless.

As for the PPSh, it points very naturally and is easy to control. What impressed me the most is, with only a little practice, I was able to deliver a precise high volume bursts of fire anywhere in range.

The gun shoots the 7.62x25 Tokarev handgun round delivering a 85 gr. round at about 1700 fps and 600 ft/lb at the muzzle.

As far as 71 vs 50 rounds, if there dead after 50 rounds then their really dead after 71.

In Russia the PPSh is a revered icon of Russian victory in WWII similar to the Colt Peacemaker as a icon the taming of the American west or the Garand as a symbol of US victory in WWII.

Here are two pictures of me with a PPSh. In the first you can get a good view of the gun and in the second I'm shooting it and check out all the brass in the air !!

BTW, I have been told PPsH barrels were actually Mosin Nagant 91/30 barrels sawed in two - saved on machinery.

I've heard the same thing- and, that the 7.62x25mm cartridge was chosen in the first place because the arms factories didn't have the capabilities (or didn't have the budget) to produce different barrel diameters.

Yep, weight certainly does increase controllability. No argument here.
