Used 700 ADL, good rifle?

One of the ADL's I have is an older 30/06 that was made in in the 1960's IIRC. I has the safety that locks the bolt. I paid $200 for it. The old shiny finish was flaking off. So I stripped the finish and sanded out almost all the deep gouges and and scratches. Some were really deep and this was a fast an dirty fix up. I repainted the trigger guard and filled the grain with Jasco wood filler which adds a nice walnut brown color. No long term oil finish. But a few coats of Minwax satin Polyeurathane and the stock was done.

Then bed the action in Acraglss gel, float the barrel and add a Williams WGS peep and I am good. With the peep and my old fart 61 year old eyes I can shoot a 3" group at 100 yards. Thats about the best I can do anymore even after cataract surgery. But that's good enough for me. That old beater ADL is one of my favorite rifles. And I love not having a friggen' scope on this gun. Just a good basic rifle made for a hunter.
