Has anyone had any personal experience with the "Rodeo" model of M1873 SAA revovler made by U.S Firearms? They claim to be built in the US, in the old Colt building in Hartford.

How does quality compare to other lower priced, "traditional" SAA models from other clone makers?

Quality issues aside...

My concern with such clones is that they have no transfer-bar safety ala Ruger. That may be fine for you, but what about the tyro you sell it off to? Oh, that re-sale thing. How big of a hit do you take vs. a Ruger, or the real Rampant Colt?

The Rodeo are supposed to be pretty good - one point I have read is they made the cylinders about .015" or so larger than the Colt, which makes it a bit stronger, should you get adventurous on loads.

It is a much smaller, handier .45 Colt than the Ruger. I don't really care for the looks of the Rodeo, but it does cost half as much as their higher grade guns.

Of course, you can go Beretta or Uberti, but I never liked Spaghetti Westerns:neener:
