I live in the bay area of CA, so prices are higher here, but today I went to get a USP 45 from a local shop and their list price was 950.00!! That seemed really high to me, so I asked if the price was firm or if there was some room to move. He said he could get the price down to 860.00 and about 960.00 out the door. I stated that I didn't want to pay more than 900.00 and then he said "That's not going to happen", took the gun off the counter and walked away from where I was standing. I thought that him walking away from me and the way he snatched the gun back was really rude, but I smiled and said okay, I will try to get some more money together and come back. He then said that the price he just gave me was a smoking deal on that gun and that he didn't think I could find a place to sell me one for 900.00, then added in a pissy tone that I could pay half now and half later and that I had 30 days to get the money together. I declined. (If I don't have it, I don't spend it or agree to spend what I don't have) At that point he seemed to be getting annoyed with me and states, well when you come back I might not be so generous with the price, and I can remember faces.(Implying that if I come back he will know it is me) His comment got a few of the other costumers to laugh and I can see he liked that. I smiled and said that's okay, I need time to think it over anyway. The guy lost a sale, and I still have 900.00 dollars and the knowledge not to do business with that man, but I am now wondering what an average price of a USP 45 is out the door? This shop is known for giving good deals, but that seems really high, even for an H&k. Should I expect to pay 950 for a USP? Thanks!!!
