Not sure if this is the correct sub-forum, but I’ve got a little bit of a problem.

I purchased a firearm on gunbroker from an out state FFL. I entered my local FFL’s information correctly, and received a tracking number with the USPS, etc. Today I received a notification that my firearm had been delivered… to Providence Forge, VA. A town I’ve never heard of in a completely different state.

Obviously I’ve already called the seller. The lady who answered said she didn’t handle gunbroker sales, and so didn’t really know what to do. She said when the guy who handles them comes back in he would call me back.

My understanding is that this is still the seller’s problem to fix, as the firearm has yet to be transferred. Is this correct? Is there anything else I should do? This is the first time I have ever bought a firearm online and not face to face, serves me right I guess.

Thanks for any advice.

Wondering…if you have a USPS tracking number showing the correct address, can’t you have the postal service re deliver, sounds like they are at fault.

I’m actually kind of relieved. Seller called me back and explained he simply gave me the wrong tracking number. ‍

Dealing with the USPS has always been a nightmare for me, so hopefully that’s the only hiccup along the way. Correct tracking number shows it should be delivered today, so we will see!

Mods, I suppose you can go ahead and delete this thread when you see it.

This stuff happens cause tracking numbers are so darn long its easy to cut and paste the wrong one. When hand copying its also easy to make a mistake. We always send the number right after shipping label is printed as an update. Waiting to send # can also result in mistakes as well. One time a buyer kept asking for the number like 4 + times. We sent the right one immediately and all but the last time. Rather than give us a call he blew a gasket and left a negative feedback. When we sent the right one with out apology he wouldn't remove the negative. We responded in kind and added him to the banned bidder blacklist. Some say auction sites sell the blacklists, we do not.
