We decided to see how a 55gr v max out of a 223rem and v max out of an ak would perform on various things such as water jugs and water melons. The ak blew the water jug in half and when we hit the water melon at 100yards with the 223 v max it sent small chunks about 10ft in the air and turned the inside into mush. About 1/3 of the watermelon was gone and not found. I have to say I've never seen such violent expansion. :)

Try it on a fox or raccoon, it nearly tears them in half.
ive had mixed results with handloads and factory when shooting animals. I shot woodchucks for years with factory v max and had the round gut them and shooting hand load v max around 3k it looked like a fmj hit the thing as there is no explosive hole. that watermelon was hit with a factory round. might have to hot rod them to get that explosion,

I (and my wife) use the 110 grn. V-max 6.8 rounds for deer (larger MO deer); out to 200 yards, bullet enters, explodes and turns the chest organs into bloody hamburger - bullet does not exit - all of our deer drop where shot. Very effective round for those kind of shots however not the "ideal" round for all deer angles - patience is our key. Good shooting.

the watermelon was turned to goop. I was trying to pick it all up to dispose of it and it was literally falling off the outer shell.

Think 12 gauge slug on a 48 ounce can of tomato juice from about 10 yards. Saw the lid going over the 50 foot high back stop on the CF range while under recoil. Troopies loved it.

Thought about using a 90gr Nosler BT in my 243 on deer until I shot a coyote and a couple of armadillos. Blew the guts out of the yote and I saw a tennis ball sized chunk of dillo go twenty feet into the air. Now I am back to the Accubond.

The lighter Ballistic Tips and the V Max both have maximum upset.
