Odd things are happening. It looks like the weapons ban on the capitol grounds may be justified.

Antifa has said that they're against gun restrictions, and are in sympathy with the pro-gun demonstration. So if they do show up they will ironically be on the side of the gun owners. But there's no telling what they might do.
    https://www.vice.com/en_us/article/...housands-of-pro-gun-conservatives-in-virginia

Meanwhile the FBI has just arrested three neo-Nazis who were planning to come to the demonstration hoping to spark a race war.
    https://abcnews.go.com/US/fbi-arrests-alleged-members-neo-nazi-group-reportedly/story?id=68329138

The demonstration is acting like a magnet, attracting every malcontent in the country. I know this was not the original intent of the VCDL, but events are spiralling out of the VCDL's control.

Those going to VA lobby day rally, be careful.

And give the law makers "our" piece of mind.

I read a NYT article this morning about this.

The authors spun-up the "emergency" situation and managed to paint the VCDL annual Lobby Day (and Phillip van Cleave, VCDL President, personally) with same brush as the Neo-NAZIs and the Charlotteville insanity.

No ... I was not surprised.

The tragedy will be that we were so close to defeating the most onerous of the antigun proposals. Trouble at the rally will set us back tremendously. The way both sides have framed Monday's event, it's almost impossible for there not to be trouble. We have been led into a trap.

I die inside a little bit reading this kind of thing at a gun forum, of all places. A northam staffer couldn't have posted a finer left wing statement.

Well if things go that direction then governor northam will take vcdl more seriously when they arrange the next rally, wont he?

    No.

While I don't regard Mr Northam as particularly intelligent, he has set up an absolutely perfect storm wherein No Matter What..... the Press and his Leftist base (I repeat myself;)) is being handed a perfect photo optic wherein the Law-abiding attendees are going to presented as part & parcel of a no-win Antifa/SkinHead-fueled foodfight.

The MSN will play it all out as irrefutable evidence of the need to disarm the masses

It will be interesting when victims of rape and survivors of murderous robberies/gang violence start joining the 2A rallies and speaking of their experiences why we need the 2A.

And armed LGBTQ members of community are known to be active participants of rallies and speaking their minds in support of 2A.

And before too long, growing factions of ERA and AARP should be joining the rallies and speaking their minds too in support of 2A.

    Did I forget anyone?

Yes, Maj Toure/Black Guns Matter urban/suburban gun owners will be joining the rallies and definitely speaking their minds loudly why they need the 2A.

    Who else?

That's right, Candace Owens and her young female gun owners will be screaming their minds loudly for 2A.

And let's not forget how the recent Texas church shooting clearly demonstrated why we need concealed carry in 50 states.

Gun owners of this nation are waking up ... To stand for the 2A.

The ABC article does NOT state the three were "planning to come to the demonstration hoping to spark a race war". It states they were arrested "under suspicion they might travel to the rally 'in anticipation of a possible race war'". This is yet another attempt by the media to associate Second Amendment supporters with far right extremists.

I think you give him too much credit.
He didn’t win by a big margin. He came close to being thrown out of office, and he’s using this to tear us apart.

He’s also acting like he’s above the law. But having heard him talking about so called “post birth abortion”, I’m not surprised that a man who either murdered new born babies and/or supports it acts like he’s acting. he may have literally gotten away with murder(s). For those that don't know he was on WTOP radio discussing how parents can choose to let a baby live or if they decided that they don’t want it how they can terminate the new born baby’s life. So his support of killing babies is recorded and documented.

As a Virginian, anything else I say about him and this situation is bound to break many rules here. So all I can say is I hope and pray that Monday goes well. I hope it’ll be peaceful and they turnout is huge. Finally, I hope it convinces some of the Dems to not vote with the leftist and to help defeat all of the proposed gun laws. That said while I’ve been invited to go, I’m going to pass as I’m too passionate about this, so I don’t want to do anything stupid. Plus if it does go bad I do t want to be in the middle of it.

I'm surprised purely defensive gear is being banned. I suppose the riot cops will be wearing plain T shirts but maybe they'll violate the ban and come armed and shielded.

Based on what I'm seeing on other gun forums if even half the folks saying they're coming show up it's going to be epic. Yes I'm sure there will be some fringe people there intentionally trying to instigate but theres no way to stop that. The MSM is going to paint this negative regardless of what happens.

If several thousand or much more armed Patriots show it's going to be interesting.

Northam has made his bed, now he can deal with the consequences.

Having the capitol grounds effectively being rendered a gun-free zone invites a comparison to nearly every site in which a mass shooting took place. This isn't good.

What we needed was a huge turnout of people with orange "Guns Save Lives" stickers, but without their guns. Look, everybody knows that gun owners own guns. (Duh!) They didn't have to bring them to show that they own them. Bringing the guns (long guns, openly carried) is what allowed Northam to take his countermeasures, and also what attracted the extremists from around the country. There are people who are fantasizing that this will be the spark for the great "boogaloo," or insurrection. We don't need that.

VCDL Executive Member Ed Levine talks about Lobby Day with Fox 5 DC.

VCDL DOES NOT want out of state militias to provide security - They want the police to provide security.

Because most average gun-owners go out in public wearing helmets and carrying shields?

The ban is also illegal, and conflicts directly with clear VA law, read that one Arf. However, the one judge turned the challenge back, (didn't need Hawaii judge this time), and by the time the dust clears, the day will have passed...but this needs to be an ongoing thing, can't be a one and done thing.
I agree, something is very likely to be triggered Monday, most likely a false flag Demonrat plant who will be "arrested" and whisked to safety. God watch over them all.

Listen my children and you shall hear
Of the midnight ride of Paul Revere,
    On the eighteenth of April, in Seventy-five;
Hardly a man is now alive
Who remembers that famous day and year.

I think it might be a good thing for folks to review the “Bill of Rights” for a refresher on protests and the right to keep and bear arms.

    God bless America.

    Amendment 1

A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.

    Amendment 6
    - Rights of Accused Persons in Criminal Cases

This is exactly what the left wants. They want conservatives to be afraid of speaking up, of protesting, of holding rallies.

The most perverse, offensive, violent and un-American incidents occur at left- wing rallies and gatherings, but the propagandists in the media cover it up.

The media is out of control and is actively committing treason every day by refusing to simply be objective.

+1. And when law makers want to take away gun rights/2nd Amendment, remind them about voting rights and 14th, 19th and 26th Amendments.

And as justice Gorsuch affirms, the written words of the US Constitution won't change no matter how crazy media gets.

I mean, blacks and women STILL have the right to vote protected by BOR, right? ;):D
