For the members in VA or others who attend the shows. I noticed that there are two gun shows within 30 miles of each other. One is at the Richmond raceway (sponsored by showmasters) and the other is at Hampton convention center (sponsored by SKG). I am only going to be able to attend one, so which one is better? I live almost the same distance away from both.

I've never been to the Hampton show, but I just know it's better.

If you want to drive to Richmond, wait for the Showplace show.

I live in Richmond and haven't been to a gun show in about 7 years...

Should I also wait for the Showplace show? Will I be disappointed if I go to the raceway?

I'm not going to be looking for anything specific, maybe some 7.62x39.

Ssds

Same stuff diffrent show I will take advantage of the guys from the club going to the show,.....I will be at the range with the Sharps shooting it for the first time:neener:

The Showplace show is bigger but you will probably find the ammo you want at the Raceway show. There is a guy from OH midway back on the left that has decent prices - as much as anyone has decent prices these days.

I heard that the Hampton show does not sell much in the way of reloading stuff. That is a my big reason to attend, but since I never went to a richmond show I did not know if they have the same restrictions as Hampton puts on thier shows.

The last two time I went to a raceway show, i was not impressed, but I'm not into C&R stuff. If I was, the raceway show would be the top of my list. ... but still it was worth my time to drive from Norfolk (about 90 minutes).

Of the two though... Hampton is usually much better.

And yeah, the showplace shows are better than the raceway shows, in general.

I don't remember any reloading stuff in the last raceway show I went to... but to be honest I wasn't looking for that last time...

I MIGHT have missed it, but I don't think so.

I don't recall ever seeing a reloading vendor at RIR. There is usually a large vendor at the Showplace back near the left corner.

Oh well, it's a gunshow so I might go if I'm in town. I can always visit with some of the vendors I've been talking to for years.

John

Let's hit the Hampton show early Saturday morning.

I haven't gone to a gun show here in the area since I moved back to the states in '02. It's about time.

I'm planning on going to both. - Hampton first...

So I'll be there in the morning, and then in Richmond in the afternoon.
