I was at a pawnshop today and found a Ruger Security-Six, stainless, 4" barrel, adjustable rear sight, a few minor scratches. Lock-up is tight. What kind of price is fair market price for such a piece at a pawnshop?

Thanks

I bought a 2.5" stainless yesterday for $350 in NIB condition, I was looking in the Gun Blue Book and they were priced from $225-$350 for 95% or better. What's he asking for it and what will he take??

That seems sort of in the ballpark. Does it have the box and paperwork with it? If not I'd make him a fair offer and see what he says.

!!!!

In the DFW area of Texas they are $350 and up whenever one is lucky enough to see one for sale. I bought one in SS 2 years ago and paid $250 and feel good about it.

Take into account the tightness of the lock-up, barrel-cylinder gap, whether the front sight is tight or loose, and the condition of such things as the grip panels. A $250 sixgun is no bargain if it needs the attention of a backlogged 'smith and parts replacement, and the $400 sixgun that is perfect mechanically may just be worth that premium, even if the exterior is scratched and scuffed a bit.
