Belgian A5 16 gauge, not Sweet 16. Barrel does not match, but is Belgian. 90-95% condition, only a few small dings in the wood. Stock has tiger stripes in the grain.

So, what would you feel comfortable paying for it?

Thanks.

You should have no problem getting $450 from someone who likes a 16 gauge eventhough the shells can be hard to come by unless you reload.
I don't think "Sweet Sixteen" is any different than any other 16 gauge A-5 except for not having the words engraved on the receiver.
An A-5 is a very reliable shotgun, and should provide good function for someone wanting a hunting shotgun. The barrel not matching will keep collectors away most likely. Post it on gunbroker and see what happens. You can also look around for others that are similar to get a good idea for a price.

You can get shells, sure. But can you get the best shells for whatever game you are pursueing as easily as the 12 or 20 gauge? No.
Your best bet for the best shells for 16 gauges is going to be reloading or ordering on the internet.

I like a 16 gauge, but I don't own one. The 16s have been dying in popularity for many years. The fact is that a reloader can lighten up 12 gauge loads to equal a strong 16 gauge shell, or heavy load a 20 gauge to equal a lower strength 16 gauge shell.

The Sweet Sixteen was the light A-5 sixteen gauge. A standard wt. A-5 in the condition you describe would bring 5-600.00 I would think.
