Hello.
I am creating this thread to post loads using Vectan (French) powders by SNPE (Société Nationale des Poudres et Explosifs). I will post some of my experiments, one caliber per post. Vectan does not provide a lot of loading data. Some calibers are not included, or with few bullet types and powder choices. Sometimes it is necessary to extrapolate or use burn rate tables to find the closest match. I am hoping that this thread might be useful to anyone using Vectan powders, either by choice or because, in my case, not much else is available in France. If you post loads, please try to use a similar format for consistency.
Thank you, and be safe.

CAUTION: Some of the following posts in this thread might include loading data beyond currently published maximums or there is no published data for the given powder and caliber. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Neither the writer, The High Road, nor the staff of THR assume any liability for any damage or injury resulting from use of this information.

.357 Magnum.
Gun: S&W 586 no-dash
. Barrel: 4" Primers: Magtech SPP.
Bullets: LSWC 158gr powder coated then sized .357.
Powders: Ba9 (eq. Unique), Ba6-1/2 (eq. N110/H110/W296), SP3 (eq IMR4227).
Note: SP3 turned out to be more regular than Ba6-1/2. The irregularities did not happen in .41 Mag, interestingly enough.

As the sun was going down my Chrony was giving errors, hence the missing Ba6-1/2 14.5gr readings and SP3 15gr. SP3 was more regular than Ba6-1/2. With the 15.5gr of Ba6-1/2 charge, there was one ever-so-slightly sticky extraction on one chamber, good indication to me to stop there. For SP3 the max published load is 16.2gr, so maybe I'll try 16gr another time.. Being a slower powder, SP3 produced some muzzle flash due to the 4" barrel, while Ba6-1/2 did not.
