I'm in the market for another AK and I've noticed some Vector Arms AK-47's on Atlanticfirearms.com. They are built off origianl Bulgarian kits and from what I've read they are FANTASTIC AK's. A gunshop did a review on a Vector AK and not only didn;t clean it for two full years, he abused the **** out of it as well. And it performed flawlessly.

I already have done some reading but I was wondering if you guys had any experience with them.

On a side note - I was wondering how you zero an AK47. I know it requires the adjustment tool, but will this tool come with instructions?

AKs are by nature, meant to handle some abuse. I know of least one AK that's had over 10k rounds through it with no cleanings.

The sight adjustment tool is used to move the front sight drum left and right to adjust windage, and also to screw the front sight post up or down to adjust elevation.

Get the most expensive one you can find. The $10 tapco's just don't cut it. I've broken at least 3 of them.

Problem with them is the ears are not strong enough to twist on a really really tight AK sight post--as most of them are. The ears splay apart and then promptly snap once you try to bend them back.

But sighting in an AK is pretty easy using the tool. For windage adjustments, it's basically a C-clamp, and you use it to press the drum left or right. Unscrew the split handle and use that end on the front sight post. It's pretty much a no-brainer once you look at it...
