Hello Everyone,

How is the quality and performance of the AK-pattern (e.g., AK-47, AKM) rifles built by Vector Arms from Polish, Hungarian, and American parts?

Thanks for the help.

They always get high praises over at ar15.com/ak47.net AK forums. I think you can buy with confidence. I believe they have a warranty too.

Yep, 5 year warranty. I have one. Shoots everything I feed it. Zero jams at over 2k rounds now. Will put 20 rounds into a 8"dia. area at 100 yards, shooting with a sling - no rest or bench. Somewhat better with.

Fit is quite good. No rattles or anything like that.

Do a search. I have pics of mine somewhere in here.

I have a Vector AK-47 Underfolder with the black polymer furniture as my truck-gun. I absolutely love it.

The only possible thing that I wish it has was a side-scope rail, but I don't think those will work on any underfolder.

On a side note...

All underfolding stocks have some play in them. My underfolder has a small bit of play, and I understand that it can (and will) get worse with use. It takes some extensive gunsmithing to correct it, but it can be done to correct it.

My appologies if I highhjacked at all, but thought it may be something to consider since Vector sells underfolders. There may be a better folding design for some folks (but nothing looks quite as nice as underfolding.)

If you don't want an underfolder, the ACE custom side-folders are nice, and are quite solid. For us lefties, too, they fold to the left side.

I've examined quite a few Vector guns in FBMG. They all seem extremely nice, right up there with the Tromix Saigas and Bulgarians in build quality.

I have a Vector underfolder with black furniture. It is a great AK. About $125 more than the Romainian ones, but worth it in my opinion.

While I like my underfolder, if I was to do it all over again I'd probably just get the fixed stock. The underfolder isn't very comfortable to shoot. Very compact and handy however. Mine locks up pretty tight, but there seems to be a little wiggle in all of them.

I think the Vector is a much better value than the Arsenal and other higher priced ones.

Just an opinion, YMMV

No Apologies Necessary

Thanks for the insights on the underfolder version of the AKs.

Any thoughts on Vector's version of the AMD?

I have a Vector built Polish UF AK and LOVE IT.

Fit and finish is great.....actually better than what I expected for the money. The stock was absolutely beautiful until I got a little crazy with the cleaning chemicals.....oops.

Function has been 1oo% with 0 failures to date. Feeds JHP, SP and FMJ Wolf all day long. I have used it with everything from new magazines to completely trashed/rusty AK magazines. Magazine fit is great.

I have been impressed.
