Vector HK Clones?

Does anyone, who has experience with real HKs, have a vector HK clone? How is the fit and finish? Are they reliable?

Many people say that Vector is really great. Check hkpro.com forums.
Even if you get a subaverage product Vector has a really great customer service record. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

What type of rifle are you looking at? 9mm? 10mm? .40S&W? .357SIG? .223? .308? Fake integral suppressor?

Which Vector models have you tried? I've never shot one, but since they are local, they have interested me. Have you shot the "matching" HK model? Any comment on the comparable fit and finish?

I have shot HK rifles. They are nice to be sure. I haven't shot a HK93, however.

The Vector V93 that I presently own hasn't been perfect by any means. It has had teething troubles, but they are minor and easily rectified with the exception of the out of spec receiver which makes mounting optics bases problemmatic. It shoot as well as any EBR, and is high on the cool factor. I am satisfied with my example.

I have been told that if you call Vector and order from them they will assure that the receiver has been properly milled to accept a claw style mount. As it was, I did that work myself.

Seeing the price I paid for the rifle, I think I got my money's worth.

I have the V51 and it has never had a problem. A friend of mine has one that he has put to the test and had no problems either. He SBRed his and put a Gemtech suppresor on it. He has also tried it with a trigger pack.

Had a customized v91 which was modded to look like a G3K3. With a DSA 1913 and trilux scope, it was one heavy son of a bitch.

However, it shot like a dream, and the recoil wasn't anything to get excited over, especially from the convex collapsing stock. I only used it a few times as the range, so I couldn't attest to its reliability.

I sold since it was a boat anchor and was expensive to feed. Keep in mind that the port buffer mangles the brass if you have any plans to reload.

Vector service was fantastic. They are open to suggestions for custom work, so you are not limited to their offerings if you can supply the parts. The workmanship was great and I was especially impressed with their refinishing job on my JLD receiver.

Jorg, I have no experience I'm just telling you what I've heard from many other people. They're not perfect, but they are very good firearms... I think that if you buy a Vector you will be happy.

Actually, with the port buffer in place on my PTR91, the brass receives no big dings or dents, the only issue is sometimes the extractor will put a nick in the rim. WITHOUT the port buffer, the brass is largely unsalvageable.

Yes - with several. Vector rifles take a bit of break in to smooth out as the level of hand detail as orginal from HK is not there at the price point they are sold at. I recommend lubing the rifle and while sitting in front of TV watching the football game operating the action a few thousand times with clean and relube at halftime. I would buy a 308 from in a PTR but the other calibers from Vector. Vector stands behind their products.

I have a Vector 53. It runs pretty well on SA, but james sometimes on Full-auto. I think it just needs to be broken in a little. The roller-lock mechanism is really tight. I'm sure Vector would take care of it if I send it in to them. I just have not bothered. I've had it for 3 years, but have only fired about 200 rounds through it.

I own the collapsible .308 version with the beautiful machined-aluminum handguard. Have owned original HK's in the past.

Would rather have the PTR91 any day over an original. Outstanding detail and fit/finish. Mine runs perfectly. Get one!
