If your state went Vermont carry tommorow and you do not have a concealed carry permit would you start to carry your gun with you after that point?

For those who do not wish to "bother" with getting a carry permit for whatever reason I ask this... If carry permits became effective on the national level (as with drivers licenses and marriage) would you get your permit from your state of residence? If you lived in a may issue state would attempt to get a non-resident permit from Utah or Florida or wherever?

I do realize that if every state went Vermont carry we would not need any permit for anywhere. These two sets of questions cover the POTENTIAL moving forward of 2A rights.
I am simply looking for the opinions of those who do not carry for whatever reason they do not, cannot not, will not or should not.

If you carry (legally or not) feel free to jump in as well.

thanks for your time.

I do not have a concealed carry permit mainly because missouri allows us to carry concealed in our vehicle without a permit. Since my job involves alot of driving this works for me. One other reason I dont have a cc permit is I have not come to terms with the idea of buying a "permit" and being "permmitted" to do something I belive I have a god given right to do. I would start carrying (on my person) the minute my state went to vermont type carry laws.

i would carry everywhere. The main reason I dont carry now is because all of the prison time i would get and the thought of having a felony on my record bothers me. I havent got a ccw because I dont want the police to know I am packing every time they run my license plate. It seems like its just asking for trouble that I would not want to deal with. Ive read about a few horror stories and dont want to have to deal with it. Its sad, but even in this rough neighborhood I fear the law enforcement more than a potential attacker. But if ohio wanted to go vermont carry tommorrow or even later today, count me in.

I'm really not sure what your question was ....

Anyway, MT is about 98% "vermont carry" (outside city limits), and is hopefully about to change to 100%. The bill has passed the House and is now awaiting action by the Senate.

I carry concealed or open every day depending on the weather and my mood or activities, but I seldom go to town (where I have to carry open, or else leave it in the vehicle).

I suppose it might be worthwhile to have a permit in order to ccw in other states with reciprocity, though I haven't been out of MT now for 6 years.

Man, MT is sounding better and better all the time.

To answer the OP's question, yes, I would start carrying all the time. I don't have a CCW permit now because I haven't been able to choke down the thought of having to get a permit to exercise a right.

In Vermont.........

I can't see why a permit system would do anything to deter crime. It simply isn't a problem here. Native Born and proud of it. Essex
