I'm not sure exactly how to word this but, here's what I want to know.

The question assumes that you are legally able to own a firearm, of legal age to lawfully carry a concealed fire arm & residing in a state that allows concealed carry & requires a permit for the same (IOW Alaska & Vermont don't count)

1. Do you have a Concealed Handgun Permit?

2. If you don't , why ? Again assuming you are eligable for a permit but choose not to have one.

3. What do you think would be the impact (if any) on the gun control stance PRO- GUN CONTROL POLITICIANS IN GENERAL if every ( eligable) gun owner in this country went and got a permit?

My Answers
1. Yes
2. NA
3. I think they'd back off of my guns & they would shut up about banning CCW.

They'd pee their pants and want HLS to start door to door confiscations of all firearms in the name of national security.

They will realize that stomping on the United States Bill Of Rights and the Constitution will have serious political consequences. You just don't f*ck with our country's Flag and get away with it.

A greater number of chips would simply expand my ever-growing waistline...

On the "What effect on the 3 candidates" part, .......... I'm thinking : None. They don't care about the pro-gun vote.

As for the impact on society as a whole, check my sig line.......

IBTL? I Don't Think So

I'm asking a very gun related question & exploring what could be a very legitimate form of activism.

There's a thread in legal right now that essential says Texas is overwhelmed W/ permit requests right now.

Do you not think the politicians are taking note?

If everyone here that didn't have a permit applied for one in their respective states it would provide a real indication of the commitment of firearms owners in the US.

Those real numbers are not something that any politician can ignore because they would have to answer questions about what the numbers mean.

I'm sure they are taking note. You asked a very pointedly political question, which are generally considered verboten here now. Remove the third question, and/or change the focus to something more in general, and hopefully the thread stays open.

Well, I have an idea of what happens when there are more guns around in a crowd.

Every time I've gone to Arizona, people have been nice, polite, and friendly. I really like the people there.

However, when they come to San Diego, where few can legally carry a handgun in city limits, Arizonans suddenly turn into *******s.

It seems that an armed society really IS a polite society.:)

Put it this way, John McCain is giving a speech at the NRA meeting in Louisville. Attendees are allowed to carry concealed weapons in the building. There will be 60,000 NRA members there. When the weekend ends without a single act of violence and no threats on the presidential candidates life we can use it in our favor for years to come.

Furthermore, even Hillary Clinton could give a speech there. Boos, yes. But I really doubt she'd get shot.

Oh, absolutely. Obama could give his "Bitter middle american white people foolishly clinging to their guns and religion" speech and I can say with alot of confidence that he would walk out of that building unharmed.

First of all, why are we even talking about this? We NRA members are perhaps THE MOST CIVILIZED AND POLITE members of American society! It is our attitude, persistence, and good nature that enabled us to defeat the British imperialists two hundred years ago and maintain our society as we are today.

It is SIMPLY BLASPHEMOUS!:fire: to even mention the statement that we are capable of cowardly and violent things.

1. Yes
2. N/A
3. Wouldn't matter at all, because at that level of power, its not so much about the guns as it is about the control. Every person in the U.S. could be armed to the teeth and the likes of hillary or obama would still try to pass laws to disarm us. A well armed Proletariat just wouldn't be acceptable to them.

You're preaching to the choir. The uneducated masses see an NRA sticker and think "Redneck good ol' boy with a golden retriever in the passenger seat of his truck, dippin' snuff and beating his fat shoeless wife with a switch."

However, if you go a Hillary or Obama rally and give a speech about NRA, RKBA, and gun ownership, you might be roughed up really bad in the parking lot afterwards, by hired corporate thugs. Oh, and you bet, some of these hired hooligans might even be carrying......guns.

Someone once said, the easist way to find a handgun: is by taking an anti, turning him upside down, and shake.

Not really "uneducated". But rather, "educated" by libpervert brainwashing propaganda.

1. No

2. I can carry open in the whole state and concealed anywhere outside city limits. It just isn't worth the hassle and expense to beg for permission to CCW in town, where I rarely go anyway.

3. No comment.

NA

They would have an Explosive Aneurysm after messing their pants.

Duh. Of COURSE she wouldn't get shot.

Wouldn't have to worry about it, either, since she'd be surrounded by people whose moral beliefs would lead them to STOP someone who wanted to hurt another person, no matter who it is.

Which is more than I can say of HER moral beliefs... if any...

I have applied for it.

I think that many politicians would be reminded just how many people out there don't participate in their groupthink.

Some of those politicians would be made thoughtful, while others would not be able to get what passes for their minds around the concept.
