I have a question about vertical grips. I tried to put a vertical grip on my rifle which has just factory M4 handguards and it seems too flemsy. I recently got newer, sturdier 4 railed handguards and the vertical grip still seems to try to separate the two peices when I grab the rifle. Will this cause a problem such as breaking the handguards or is it just me? Does anyone else have a vertical grip mounted on something other than free-floated handguards? Have you had this problem?

As you found out it's best to use a free float for a VFG. If you bought one of the two piece aluminum quad rails, I'd chuck it and get the real thing.

I just recently added a bottom rail and vertical grip...and haven't had a problem.

I'd read a lot about people's likes and dislikes with the foregrip and wanted to see for myself. I had been given the Beretta (which I've seen the same design sold without the Beretta logo) one and didn't want to spend an arm and a leg on a rail only to find out I didn't like the setup. The $10 rail I bought mounted just fine and I haven't had any problems with stability of the rail, grip or the handguards.
