Veteran discount on chl in Texas

I seen the application process fees for the chl here in Texas and the veteran one is 70.00 what are the requirments on that. I recieved an honorable discharge from the Marines in 2003 and my wife in 2001 I seen combat and she didnt so would we both qualify are just me thanks for the help i appreciate it and so does my wallet..

Depends on how the State of Texas defines "Veteran". Contact DPS to find out for sure.

A copy of your DD 214 plus the check should do it. You can call Concealed Handgun Licensing Section: (800) 224-5744, but be prepared to spend some time in a holding pattern.

I'm eligible for the senior rate so vet status is immaterial to me.

Also i have lived in Texas since january and had my license since Feb i have my vehicles registerd and have a home do i have to wait to be a resident for 6 months before i can apply for it.

You can apply immediately if you relocate to Texas with the intent to establish residency. Get 'er done!
