Hello.
I was looking for 41 Magnum loads and found on their respective sites:

Vihtavuori N110, max of 19.8gr for 210gr XTP at 1529fps.
Vectan Ba6-1/2, max of 19.8gr for 210gr XTP at 1529fps.

Vectan Ba7-1/2, max of 11.4gr for 210gr XTP at 1312fps.
Vihtavuori N350, max of 11.4gr for 210gr XTP at 1312fps.

So who makes these powders, Vectan or Vihtavuori? A third party?
I would assume one manufacturer for both...
I wonder if other powders from these two brands are the same...

That is kind of weird since Vectan is supposed to be manufactured in France and Vihtavuori in Finland. I guess nothing is impossible these days though!

My Vectan GM3 looks nothing like any VihtaVuori powder, but I did Google and found some images of Vectan 7½ that looks a lot like VihtaVuori, and some that doesn't. Maybe they changed suppliers? I think my GM3 says it is made in Italy?

Interesting, I wonder where the Nobel brand fits in that scheme...

Since VV claims their powders are made in Finland and Vectan claims to be made in France, it would seem unlikely they are the same powders.
Usually stating country of origin is regulated by law.
Unlikely but maybe a coincidence??
Unless I could get something from the manufacturer that said they were the same I think it would be unwise to assume they are.
Hodgdon sells powders with their label that are made by ADI, ADI labels them different but they are the same.
Some powders here for example HP38/W231 and H110/W296 are the same so it is possible.

Hi, good point.. In any case, the loads must have been copied from one website to another... Same charge to the tenth of a grain, same fps to 1fps, same bullet, same max charge, and that on at least two different powders..

One could be a copy of the other. Don't put it past a powder vendor to copy success and put a different label on the bottle to sell it. You won't find this from the in print shills, just when were they telling us that HP 38/W231 and W296/H110 were the exact same powders?

I do know that Accurate Arms told me that AA2520, a ball powder, was blended to the IMR 4895, a stick powder, pressure curve. Accurate Arms 2495, a stick powder, was blended to the IMR 4895 pressure curve. And they blended their AA 4350 to the IMR 4350 pressure curve. Nothing works like success, and copying a successful powder sounds like a winner. There are those who think they are smart enough to improve on success, and New Coke was an example of what happened. Schultz beer was the number one beer in American, and then the suits tried to improve on its success. They failed. I am sure others can think of other attempts to improve on success, that failed.

I am going to say, if they look the same, take the same powder charge for velocity, they are the same.
