Curious to see if anyone out there is actually using Vitarbo target grips on their S&W Model 41. (or anything else for that matter) While I'd like to spring for a set of Randall Fungs, the $185.00 price tag coupled with 6 week delivery kinda puts a crimp on things. The Vitarbo looks like a good poor man's alternative, but would like some further input prior to buying.

TIA,

I have a set that he did for me on a Pardini air pistol. I followed his instructions, photocopied my hand, etc, then sent it all off.

The grip I got back is nicely done and quite well made. Nice wood, nicely carved. To be completely honest, I did have to file a hair off the top in order for it to fit perfectly. I like that a whole lot better than trying to add wood though.

I also think it is a little snug for my hand, and intend to open it up a bit, but that is subjective thing. I will say this, for the money it is the best deal going, and well worth it.

Thanks for the reply. However, the ones I'm seeing are at Champion's Choice, and come in sizes (S,M,L,XL) and are not fitted individually. I'm wondering how they'd be?? Where did you have yours done that required the outline of the hand?

Tnx,

Um, Arne made it for me, guess I wasn't clear. I didn't know he did "off the shelf", though I see no reason why those would be any different other than generic sizing.

Some "bullseye" friends of mine know Arne Vitarbo, so they gave me his number a few years back when I lucked into a Pardini single stroke pneumatic air pistol. The Pardini had right hand grips, which were a bit difficult for this left hander to accomodate:D

I called him up, and he made the grips for me. I would imagine he does it for anyone, he is in the business after all. I think he gave me a "bro" price, 'cause I mentioned my friend's name, but I could be wrong. If I recall, he charged me about 75 or 85 bucks.

Thanks for all the input guys, but I just got done ordering a set of Nils adjustables. I guess I'm just into instant gratification!:)
