navajo, check out posts no. 578-9 for a do-it-yourself 20rnd. magazine project. If you don't want to tackle the project yourself and I can still acquire the requisite parts to complete some more (I'm keeping the ones that I've made thus far :p) then let me know and I'll see what I can build them for.

:)

Mav, I havent' forgotten bout ya, I've just been working a whole lot... I'll get to the post office in the next couple...

I couldnt resist and tried Kinggun railed cover on my kosa.
Ill keep my GunXpert for sure.

But it fits and seems rigid enough to hold zero.
One user recomended to apply loctite on screws, as they losen after about 500 rounds.

rail mount

Hey Bohemus, that looks like a good design to me, where did you find it? only thing see is that the clamping "nut" (for lack of a better term) could be a little thicker and wider, that would help on the "shoot loose" issue. Id like to have one to try and to study. I could make those (the nut part)
if it was a problem. * Wow, while I was looking at my receiver to see if it was machined the same there, I though "wow if the receivers were only dovetailed there, it would be no problem to mount anything." ( Ive got some drawing to do)

Thanks Bohemus, I'll take care of payment asap, I've been at work all week and haven't gotten away:( I also need to get to the post office for Mav too.... I'm a busy guy...

Coalbed, you should definitely draw something up!!! I thought about it too, but I'm not a welder by any means, so Bohemus and I worked out this lil deal..

Cz-805 bren

I hear its has wonderful features, but a facebook friend has field trial with one (from Czech Republic also), and said it had many stoppages. Shame its seems a very good concept and the bayonet is awesome, but he said He and his buddies that trialed it found it heavy, unreliable, and unwieldy. They would much rather just keep the VZ-58 with upgrades.

Coalbed, that bayonet is awesome! Hadn't seen that before (just the CZ805). Way cooler than the Stgw57 bayonet I just bought. There are a few folks selling them (CZ USA) but I have to wonder why they cost 200$:eek:

Bayonet

I think its about as top of the line as it gets. Hopefully the price will come down some as the "new" wears off. (people pay top dollar for the latest items).

7.62x39 ammo in at Cheaper Than Dirt

Looks like Cheaper than Dirt just got some Tula 7.62x39 ammo in. ...Ready for the sticker shock? $329.97 for 500 rounds :what: . That's like $13.20 a box, in bulk price. Oh well if anyone is just starved for cheap made Tula ammo the link is , http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-6405 . Glad I have a bit put back for a rainy day, however if this shortage (real or artificial, hurts the same) keeps up for much longer I may be forced to buy some at these ridiculous prices just so I can go to the range without depleting my stock. This is just crazy to me, hasn't been long ago I bought 500 rounds of Wolf for like $4.80 a box. :cuss: *EDIT*I just noticed they haven't listed it in the store stock yet but if you use the above link it will take you to new items. There are other calibers in as well, and some reloading components ( I didn't see any 7.62x39 loading components).

Mags found

Well I won my bid for my spare mags. They are on the way. I noticed CDNN has all the VZ 58 mags they have left on auction at GunBroker.com . Also that guy jesticearms has his last ones on there as well in lots of 10. Just saying in case someone reads this forum that cant find any right now.

I wouldn't buy from Dumber Than Dirt even if it were competitively priced. They've gouged the gun community too many times during the 2008 elections and more recently the Sandy Hook shooting to get my business.

Luckily, they still ask ridiculous prices which hopefully will drive their business into the ground. You can easily find a thousand rounds of 7.62x39 for that same price, I've even picked up that much ammo at $250 from SGAmmo. There is no need to throw money away on ammo even in today's environment, online sources are getting it in albeit slowly. Unless you are desperate for ammo, hold off and it will get more plentiful and at realistic prices. Anyone throwing their money away to Dumber Than Dirt is just giving them more reason to try and rip us all off even more...

Yea I'm not buying any steel case cheap made ammo from anyone for that price. If I'm going to pay that much, I'll get something I can reload. Speaking of which, I've got well over 500 rounds of PMC brass on hand, I'm buying some bullets and load me a short case is what I'm going to do. :neener: After I shoot those all up, I may load them again. Or may be I'll reload my Lapua brass. Point is I have other options.

Installed a rail segment made by ERGO on the forearm then added the AFG. Not trying to "AR" the VZ, but I like the hold better now and it should be cooler after firing off a few mags (if I can find ammo).

68wj, I have considered doing that exact thing to mine. I have an AFG-1 on my M17S and really like it (whereas I'm not terribly fond of vertical grips).

:)

Looking at Gun Broker today and I noticed Clearview has close to 100-1000 rnd cases of wolf selling at about $339.00 a case. I'm starting to wonder if there is a shortage anymore or if the sellers are just hooked on high prices.

Tell me about it. From what I'm hearing we will have about 4-6 more months at these prices. Even worse is that we my never see the days of $175 a case again.
