Who would you buy a VZ-58 rifle from?

or some other company

and what is the reason?

Aside from collecting, what's the point? It still shoots 7.62 x 39, but takes a magazine that is harder to find and more expensive than an AK. Sure, it's a nice rifle, but...

The two companies you mention sell the same exact Czech made rifle. Your decision should be based on customer support and / or price.

Ohio Ordnance Works sells a quality Vz58 clone with a US receiver, but are pricy.

You should avoid any Vz58s with Ohio Rapid Fire receivers.

VZ mags are not that hard to find nor rare.

Not anymore, CDNN still lists them, even though they've been out of stock for a while. To stay strictly inside the law, the followers and base plates on surplus mags must be replaced with US made items, available from Czechpoint, due to the 10 or less rule in effect.

Exchanging a US made pistol grip and gas piston for the foreign ones will allow you to use any magazines.

You could always grid off your bayo mount too.

The ones you get from them take origional mags with out changing out the base plate.

The imported VZs (Czechpoint/CZUSA) don't have bayonet lugs.

Bayonet lugs have bupkus to do with 922r (if you think it does, please show me where it's listed)

Some of the USA made VZ's do...

1) this is because they were made from imported parts kits.
2) Any "US made" Vz58 should be inspected and if it has an Ohio Rapid Fire receiver, avoided.
