26 grains of W-296 with a 240 grain bullet is about 2 grains beyond the maximum listed in most reloading manuals, maybe all reloading manuals!

:what: :what: :what: :what:

That S&W 629 is not likely to last too long like that!

Yup, that's on up there. I have an oooooold Hornady manual that shows 25.0 as max. I keep it to 24, myself.

I use 26 grns of W296 with a 200 grn HP out of a 4" 29 and that's a bit of a hand full. It's real nice out of my 9.5" SRH though.

tutto ok

i bossoli usati (fiocchi) sono risultati perfetti senza segni di pressioni alte
e sono anche usciti facilmete dal tamburo...
a sinistra la palla dopo aver impattato contro un giubotto anti-proiettile
a destra come era...
sulla palla di sinistra si vedono ancora i filamenti del giubotto.

appena ne avrò la possibilità vedo di elevare ancora un pò la dose:what:

ciao

24 gr out of my 629 = 1370 fps with 240 gr Sierra.

Ivan comes from where they make Ferraris, and have fewer lawyers:D

Here is AOL's translation of his last post:

all the ok used bossoli (ribbons) are turn out to you perfect without
signs of high pressures and are also escapes facilmete from the
drum... on the left the ball after to have impattato against giubotto
a right anti-bullet like it was... on the ball of left still look at
filaments of the giubotto.

It sounds like he said the cases are still okay, and eject freely from the cylinder.

Ivan, give Hodgdon Lil'Gun a try...
