Here's one on my hip back in January of 1970...about 50 clicks north of Saigon. Issued when I arrived, I carried it for the first three months of my tour as Forward Air Controller flying for 5th Special Forces guys at An Loc.
As a young Lt., I found it was a good revolver, but the grips (without a filler) made DA shooting tough not to mention the underpowered issue 130 gr FMJ ammunition. I soon packed it away for a Browning Hi Power carried in a Tanker rig across my chest when flying. Best Regards, and congrats on a fine handgun...arguably one of Smith's finest. Rod
