Wal Mart to stop selling mini's, AR's?

The majority of WalMarts dumped all "tactical" firearms and accessories this summer when the prices looked like they had bottomed out, but product stayed on the rack longer than they require. There were some great deals for a couple of weeks before the inventory cleared out.

There was nothing ideological in the decision, unless you consider commercialism and capitalism. It was purely a market decision like when they dropped their fabrics sections (and then brought them back).

Could be. Wal-mart doesn't get too controversial. None of them sell handguns AFAIK.

Doesn't bother me too much. I don't shop for new guns there unless they're on clearance (and the clearance deals aren't as good as they once were at Walmart - on anymore). Heck the store here in town stopped selling guns altogether for a few years but brought them back after a while.
My WM has hand guns aplenty. I think the posters on here saying it's a economic decision rather than a political statement are right.
Just a year ago my WM had a dozen AR's and mini's in a lazy Susan type display case. All where wildly over priced. I doubt many sold.
But they sell .454 Redhawks as fast as they get them, so they stayed.

The Pearl, MS Walmart has got a bunch of Minis going for 627 dollars.

It's all complete manure.

Dick's Sporting Goods also does not sell "assault" rifles, yet they sell the Remington R-15 which is essentially a redneck camo version of the AR-15.

I just purchased a Mossberg 930 waterfowl version this weekend and got to look at the special order catalog. No AR type rifles to be found. Oh well. It seems that "home defense", extended magazine shotguns are ok to sell for now.

As soon as Turkey season is over at Tyndall AFB ( I got lucky on the drawing) the 930 Gets converted to a 13 shot 12 Ga thunderstick!
