Oh Hi Oh
I recently bought a Walther P99 compact AS 9mm and have decided I really like it. I've already cranked about 1000 rounds through it. Been spending a lot of time shooting it side by side with my Glock 26 and an HK P2000sk trying to decide which I like best. Verdict so far; ALL OF THEM!

I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has the Walther P99 compact AS in .40 AND 9mm. How do they compare when shooting? Do they fit the same size holster?

Thanks

While the Glock 27 and HK P2000 SK in .40 Auto can use the same holsters as the Glock 26 and HK P2000 SK in 9mm, respectively, because their slides have the same dimensions, the Walther P99c AS in .40 Auto has a different slide contour at the muzzle. If the holster was designed for the 9mm, it will not fit the .40 Auto version. A holster designed for the .40 Auto version will fit the 9mm version.

I strongly prefer the P99 in 9mm, and I suspect that this would be even stronger for the P99c. I own two P99c pistols, both with AS triggers, and both chambered in 9mm, Great pistol.

I also agree that all three -- the Glock 26, HK P2000 SK, and Walther P99c -- are great pistols.

I have both the compact and fullsize P99 in A/S, and I also a fullsize SW99. I really love these guns. I will admit that the compact P99 in 9mm has a bit of snap to it. I would not want one in 40. I have read many complaints about the fullsize P99 in 40 is too snappy. And, I think I've read 1 post a while back of someone who had a 40 cal compact P99, and they regretted buying that caliber due to the recoil.
