I have a question:
Will grips for a Walther PP fit on a PA-63? They are within millimeters of being the same dimensions. I just wondered if anyone has put new grips on their PA-63 and had recommendations.
I'm not looking for 'pretty'. I'm looking for 'comfortable' and 'durable'.
Thanks in advance.

Just in case anyone ever has the same question:
No, they won't interchange. The location of the grip screw is just slightly off. If you are desperate and don't mind some cutting/grinding then you could MAKE it work bit I wouldn't if I wasn't trapped on a desert island full of mutant werecrabs.
:scrutiny:

does anyone make aftermarket grips for the pa-63 without the silly thumbrest?

Pachmayer makes them. You can find them at makarov.com
I am casting about for some Hogue grips just to see if they make them. There is a gun show coming to the area next month and I will scour that one for a deal.
I considered getting a Pachmayer slip-on grip but that doesn't get rid of the thumbrest, which is what I find uncomfortable in my paw.
If I come across something I will post info and pics. Y'all do the same if you have any luck, please!;)
I trolled by one of the local gun shops the other day and the guy behind the counter handed me a set of grips. He was nice and didn't charge me since they were in the Box Of Random Pieces. I went home and slapped it on my PA-63. They fit flush against the slide but were so short I could actually see sideways through the magwell, it didn't cover all of the cutout. It turns out the grips he gave me were for a PA-61(?) which, I take it, is sort of the PPK to the -63's PP. I took them back yesterday and we both had a good laugh. :D
Still searching

Update

I bought a set of grips from Makarov.com... they have new ones in either black or ivory. They are textured, have no thumb rest, and are slightly wider. I will try them out when I get a chance and review ASAP. I am also going to make some wooden ones myself and try some custom designing.
Anyone who is interested, pop over to Makarov.com and take a look at pics of the new grips.
Cheers
