Need a little help here guys. Last week, after putting about 900 rounds down range, with my PPS 40cal, the extractor metal part flew off? I bought the gun new, a year ago, and never even had a jam before. After picking up the metal extractor from the floor and examining the gun I noticed that what secures the piece in is a detent with a spring. The top of the detent showed wear on one side, so I assume that when it tried to cycle, it got caught and the force was then transferred to the metal piece with ejected. This is based on the fact that the detent and spring where still in there place in the gun.
Has anyone had or heard of this problem before? With a PPS or any gun?
I contacted S&W and they have treated me like gold. They emailed a FedEx Express label and I shipped the complete gun to them. They said they would take care of it.
My concern is that this is my carry and main PDW when on the road.
I appreciate any feedback from you guys.
Thanks
:)

Interesting. I've found the PPS to be wonderfully reliable in the two-plus years that it has been on the market and have heard precious few reports of issues of any kind:

You might want to consider posting a query on the Walther Forums to see if you can shake any comments loose from its PPS-owning membership -- and there are a lot of them.

It's no surprise that the S&W customer service crowd, aka Walther America, is taking care of you. They are generally a first-rate collection of good people.
