I've got a chance to buy a used LNIB PPS M2 9MM for a pretty good price. $330 for gun, box with all the stuff and 1 each 6,7, and 8 rd mags. Gun does not fall in safety recall serial # range. I really liked original PPS but paddle style mag release turns me off. Any owners out there? What do you think?

My daughter has one and it has been 100% reliable. I dont do plastic guns, but even I have to admit its a fine CC gun. I can see how the very thin grip could bite into large palms, but otherwise I cant find anything to gripe about it.

Nice gun.

I picked one up, liked it so much I bought another. I have 2xl size hands, but for whatever reason, the grip fits me really well. For a smaller slim pistol, it is very enjoyable for me to shoot and easy for me to shoot well.

I probably have 5K rounds through mine since I got it 3 yrs. ago, this is a gun that just works for me as an EDC gun and it is the smallest gun that I know of that shoots as well as this one does. On several occasions I have put 300 rounds through it in a single range session. I sent it back to Walther a few months back for the drop-safe recall, and it was a fantastic gun before it was worked on and it’s still a fantastic gun.

However the prices on these guns have come down significantly. You can get a new boxed set gun that comes with the 6 and 7 round mags from Palmetto State Armory for $269.99, and the 8 round accessory mag will cost you $40. So a new gun & 8 round accessory mag will cost you less than what the seller is asking for the used gun. Trust me you want the 8 round mags ( I have 2). Personally I’d offer the seller $250 for that gun with the extra 8 round mag. Great gun but that price has to come down to make it a great deal.

Whatever you decide, I can backup what others have said about this gun. It's about the smallest 9mm besides the Shield 9mm that I can grip well.

The gun is reliable and accurate for me.

I’m on my second Walther PPS M1 (didn’t know how good I had it) and I had a PPS M2.

Tried the M1 and really liked it, but at the time the paddle mag release kind of bugged me.

Sold the first M1 to buy and M2 for the button mag release, two problems.

1) Mine had a defect where the spring was set incredibly weak. Sent it back to the factory and they fixed it.

2) I shoot thumbs forward. So even with the stronger spring in it I’d still occasionally hit it accidentally.

Sold that and tried a Glock 42 and a couple other single stack 9’s and .40’s. Never liked them as much as that Walther PPS M1.

So I bought another M1.

A majority of the time I carry a Glock 26.3 or a Glock 23.4 in an IWB holster, but when I do pocket carry I use that Walther PPS M1. I carry it in a DeSantis Nemesis pocket holster.

Hope this helps.

My PPS M2 is excellent. I agree with the earlier post regarding prices. The cost for a new PPS is down now, so I’d go new or offer less for the used one.

Gunbuyer.com has the LE version with night sights and 3 mags (6, 7, and 8 round) for $319.

Thanks for all replies! I was glad to see they were all positive. I offered $300 and they took it. So $314 with tax. PSA is $269 and with tax it's $288, shipping is free. Add the $35 FFL and it's $323. I'd need an 8 rd mag for $35, so $360 for the new gun. So I bought the nice used one and it's here beside me.
Thanks again, Jim

My pps m1 is a 40 sw......did the m2 ever make a 40?....I seem to recall walther listing an m2 40 early on but I dont think I've ever seen it available anywhere.

My wife just bought hers about a month ago. Didnt have the recall done so we sent it in. Shipped it on a Monday and it came back on that Thursday, really mindblowing. Sending it in is not a big deal at all.

Great gun and that's a decent price.

I really tried to like the M2 but just couldn't. My LGS was having a good sale on them so I tried it out in my hand. Palmswell is too exaggerated, no rail, and no paddle mag release that I am used to using. Not to mention this was before the recall and seeing reports of the sights falling out when shooting. Thankfully a few months later I grabbed a M1 from my gun store and have been very happy since.

I can’t think of a better pistol for what these are going for these days!

Walther website has a PPS M2 manual available. FWIW it shows mag capacities for available calibers. .40 is listed. Same manual shows lifetime warranty regardless of whether you're orig owner, with 48 hour turnaround. Has to be post 1993 produced gun.
