I live in Central Western VA. My wife has given the go-ahead to attend my first training class. I have NO idea what to look for. Here is what I am wanting:

1.) Would like to stay in VA or WV.

2.) Beginning Pistol Course. Here is the catch; I don't want to pay for half a day of teaching me how to disassemble and clean a gun. After 20+ years. I have figured that part out. I want an expert diagnosis of my shooting technique, and how to improve it, with an emphasis on CCW.

3.) Prefer if reloads are allowed. I understand this is hard with liability for the instructor, but, if two schools are equal except this point, the ammo savings would be a deciding factor.

So, any suggestions? TIA.

Mods: I think I put this in the right category. Please move if needed. Thanks.

If I were going to take a class such as you mention I would probably go with CSA (Colonial Shooting Academy).

I have not taken any classes there but have been there many times. They are supposedly one of the top ranges in the country so I would expect their classes to be worth the money.

I don't know of any private instructors locally..

Good luck...
