Wanted: single shot adapter for Ruger 77/22 et al.

I have been playing with Colibri, Super Colibri, CB caps, and Shorts in my 77/22. The Ruger rotary mag will not feed anything shorter than Long Rifle, so I have decided I want a single shot adapter that would allow me to drop in a cartridge and close the bolt with out fumbling the round into the chamber each time. Seems to me it would be a relatively easy thing to design one and mold it from one of the better plastics, er… excuse me, polymers, or metal. Who knows, even the odd 10/22 shooter might find one useful. Does anyone know of such a gadget?

Hey Huck, have you tried them out of an aftermarket mag, like a Hot Lips mag? I wonder if they would feed any better out of them. I shot some of the Colibris and Super Colibris in my 10-22, but like you I got tired of single loading them. I found they fed fine through my Remington Nylon 77, so I just shoot them in it now. They might feed better in an aftermarket mag. If not, they're cheap enough that you could try to modify one.
