Glock or M&P?

Whichever one you shoot better. If you shoot both about the same, then whichever one's cheaper. If they're both about the same price, then whichever one's in stock at your local shop. If they're both in stock, then flip a coin. ;)

Mini guns like the GLOCK 26 are much harder to grasp and not nearly as enjoyable to shoot.
Actually, the baby Glocks are not difficult to grasp at all.
And they're not painful to shoot in the least.
In fact, lots of folks actually shoot better with the sub-compact Glocks than they do with the larger Glocks.

Out of the ones you have there...I would go with the Ruger, but maybe you would be open to a suggestion....have you considered the subcompact in XD. They also make extended clips so that you essentially have full capacity like a full size model, only in a subcompact. They are extremely reliable, durable and accurate. Since the XD-M's have come out the price has gone down on the standard XD's. I bought a full size XD in 9mm for my wife a year ago and it was $515 with the tax and transfer paper work included at a gun show. Otherwise I would go with the Ruger...they make quality stuff and it always goes boom.

AGREE to DISAGREE on MINI GLOCKS

easyg,

We will have to disagree on the small grip mini guns like the GLOCK 26. My own experience with it was that is was more difficult to shoot than the 19. Recoil was a factor, but the small grip made control an issue.

I have shot other small guns and larger pistols with small grips. I really like the shorter grip on the BERETTA 92 Compact pistol and shoot better with it and any other pistol in this catergory. I also shoot the WALTHER P-99 very well.
Another gun that fits really well is the SIG 225. The shape is very ergonomic and I prefer it to the SIG 226 that I carried for several years.
I can also shoot the BERETTA Tomcat well despite the short, two finger grip. However, recoil is a non issue on this gun, at least for me.

One of the things that I noticed is that many of the LEO'S I have worked with, use a mini GLOCK like the 27, but with an extension added. To me, this defeats the purpose of making a gun so small.
I would rather they left the barrel/slide a bit longer as well.

For my hand, a grip long enough to hold 13 9m.m. rounds like the BERETTA Compact is perfect.

I had a S&W 439 that was accurate as all get out. Single stack. It became a safe queen when I got a 4506. I traded the 439 for a Keltec p-32 which became an always gun. Sooo I'd get the S&W 3913. A very Nice rendition of the 39 series and eminently carryable and reportably a shooter.
