A couple months ago I was in my Local Gun shop chatting with a couple guys that work there when I noticed two Sig 220s in one of the display cases.
One was Two tone with 2 7 round mags and night sights and no visible wear. The other was all parkerised with Three 8 round mags, Night sights, an accessory rail, and a bit more wear than the other.
They told me I could have either for 489.00 + Tax. I knew I didn't have the extra cash at the time but they let me put it on layaway so I choose the one with the accessory rail and better mags. They rubber banded the mags to the gun and carried it off to the Layaway room.
Fast forward to yesterday, I go in to pay the gun off. I fill out the paperwork, give them my permit and License and one of the guys brings the gun out but with no mags. I ask him where they were and he gives me a confused look, then tells me there were no mags with the gun. He checked the tag and it did say there were two additional 8 round mags with the gun so he went back to check again. Of course the mags were not there so he asked me to come back in an hour with the boss got back.
My friend and I head back over there about 90 minutes later and the boss and Manager had came back and helped look for the mags. The best they could do were two old 7 round mags that had spots of rust on them. THis is where I am not sure if I was out of line or not. I told them that these were not near as good as the mags originally included with the gun and I didn't feel that they were an acceptable replacement. They gave me no flack about this, and appeared to agree with me on it. However I am second guessing myself and wonder if I should have taken the offered replacements.
Anyway they finally just decided to order me two 8 round mags for the gun since I was not going to take delivery of it without some arrangement to replace the lost mags.
So I now have the gun a holster at half price and the promise of two new mags.
So was I out of line in not accepting the offered replacement Mags considering the great deal they gave me on the gun in the first place? I am friends with these people and I don't like having to be disagreeable with them on anything. But I felt I was in the right.
