and it seems he's seen the light.

He was speaking of the actions of a lot of politicians using the 'global' approach to taking over details of people's lives. In specific, he spoke of Rudy Giuliani going around telling mayors that they should try to ban guns, or at least greatly restrict ownership, because 'if people own guns here, somebody will steal them and they'll be used in crimes in New York', back when he was mayor. And since, from what I've read.

Then said that he used to think the 'from my cold dead hand' line was kind of funny when Charleton Heston said it. But seeing what's happened since, (can't remember the exact words) "Do you believe that if you have a Democrat Congress and someone like Giuliani in the White House, that they won't come for your guns? They will."

Nice to have him saying it out loud. Especially after people like Sean Hannity making excuses for Giuliani at every opportunity.

He's been pimping Romney hard. No offense to anyone, but it's a Mormon thing. They do stick together.

Absolutely!

He even went so far as to say "there absolutely will be a civil war if they try to take the guns away." Nice of him to see the light there.. anyone else heard that from a reasonably mainstream guy well... ever?

.. and his tentative support for Romney ain't a Mormon thing, it's a "least offensively liberal of the three top runners" thing. Which isn't saying much. :scrutiny:

Again, Kaylee, I mean no offense but it's the way I see it. I heard him do an interview with Romney and he tried every spin he could think of to get Romney off the hook for the flip flop on the abortion issue.
I live in a Mormon dominated region of Idaho and they're strong family people - they take care of each other. I've talked to a lot of my Mormon friends and their Bishops are telling them all to support Romney above all the other candidates.
Just the way it is...

BEST. LINE. EVER.

"You know what, California? You just got a bunch of dope-smoking hippies. You'll be done in like ten minutes. No.. wait.. we'll just let Tennessee kick your ass."

(no offense intended to our friendly allies in the Occupied Territories, of course)

:D

Glenn Beck is definitely pro 2A. He has stated it many times on his show and claims to have a CW permit. I'm not sure what state - Pa or Ct. Bottom line is that I don't blame him for questioning Rudy. Rudy is definitely NOT pro 2A.

Glen Beck

I have been listening to him for about 5 years now. I heard the "from my dead cold hands" phrase come out of his mouth last week and was really suprised. Then i heard it again today. He is definately pro 2a, although i have only heard him speak of it recently. He is on xmradio 0900-1200, eastern time M-F on channel 165.

For those who've missed it and want to catch it - you can sign up to his subscription service (costs $7/month, and you can cancel it right off).

You're looking for pretty much of hour 3, 2/26/07.

Biker, it's not necessarily a Mormon thing. Harry Reid is Mormon too, and I don't believe I've heard Glen Beck "pimping" him. I'm Mormon, but I would vote for Newt over Romney any day, regardless of what anyone in my church has to say (which, by the way, if that is happening, is purely personal. The Church has very strict rules against anyone in a position of authority opining about politics in an official capacity. The Church is strictly neutral when it comes to candidates and parties. Specific issues are a different story (e.g., gay marriage, abortion, etc.))

No offense taken, but that is crap. (yep, I'm Mormon too) Yes, I'm surrounded by many idiots who'll vote for Romney because of his religion, but these are the same type of idiots who vote for the guy with the nicest hair anyway.

And if a church leader is endorsing a political person, then it is personal, and not official, because we aren't supposed to do that.

Between Romney, McCain, and Guiliani, I'll take Romney, but that is like choosing between bowell, brain, or prostate cancer.

He seemed to be pimping Giuliani hard for a while. It's nice to see that's over.

If you thought General Augusto Pinochet was a good president of Chile, you'll LOVE Giuliani. I shudder to think what Giuliani would do with the BATFE.

If I wanted to live in a police state, I'd move to Syria.

It's amazing to me that americans put themselves to a box come voting time.
Americans demand choice and quality in every aspect of life....but when it comes to govt.......brand/party loyality will come first over quality......just amazing....

Then I'd suggest pushing VERY hard for Dr. Paul. Man phones, stuff envelopes, and make with the signs, buttons, and bumper stickers. Even if he can't get the nomination, a strong showing will put the GOP on notice.

Basically, it's down to a choice between constitutionality in government, or religion. Being an agnostic, my opinion on that is rather obvious.

But Dr. Paul has been consistently on our side in regards to the 2A, and you can say "he can't win". But he can't win if every gun owner individually does NOT vote their interest. It's past time to take the GOP back from the religionists and the east coast socialists. Do, or do not.

I enjoy Glenn Beck. I never knew he was pro 2A, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.

Just makes me like him even more.

Oh, he didn't used to be. He's warmed to the topic over the last several years. I think prolly the death threats any high-profile opinion guy gets probably have something to do with it. :uhoh:

*Biker waits with tightly clenched teeth in the dark, wide-eyed with terror, for Correia, Tex and hundreds of other THR Mormons armed with torches and pitchforks to storm his castle.*

Just my experience, Fellas.

thanks for posting that streaming audio link, big tuna....i don't get Beck on til 10 here and they cut off his last hour :cuss:

i too am glad to hear him say out loud that a dem congress and "rudy" as president WILL take our guns.
after all, rudy doesn't thinks 2A is about hunting....:banghead: and i don't think for a second that they won't try to ban private gun ownership period.

Glenn Rules!

Okay, I just snarfed my coffee.

I had never seen Beck's show until I moved out here to Nevada and was held hostage in a hotel room(my place wasn't ready yet). I have to say I was pretty surprised his show was on a MSM channel. I wish we had a truthful news channel that reported events as they occur and not spun to fit agendas.

Of course some of the deadliest gunfighters of the Old West were Mormons, such as Porter Rockwell.

But then when the governor of a state (Illinois, big surprise there...) issues an order that an entire religious group be exterminated, it's probably a good idea for the members of that religion to learn to handle a gun.
