Was thinking about getting a CW9, but might do a Glock 43.

I'm not a Glock "fanboy", and have tried out several different thin 9mm pistols.

I liked the XDs, but my thumb rode the slide release [with my natural hold] causing it to not hold open on the last round. Same because I liked the feel of that gun.

I couldn't get used to the frame style of the Shield.

I was going to buy another CW9 [had one years ago but sold it because I couldn't get used to the trigger] with the hope that I could "tame the trigger". LOVE the feel of the grip.

Might do the new Glock 43, though it still isn't my cup of tea.

I have considered a Sig P938, but they are expensive and would require a more extensive "training of arms" in order to use it naturally [not a huge issue, just training].

I like the Ruger LC9s. Great trigger but the grip doesn't feel the most natural to me, but could make it work.

It's been very hard for me to find something I'd like. I don't care for the really long DAO triggers, so that's why I haven't considered many other thin 9mm carry guns.

How about taking a look at the Bersa BP9CC. Its a 8+1 single stack 9mm, and is smaller than the Glock 43 except the mag well is longer but it can hold two more round in the mag. They run around $400 in my area and the reviews I have seen are positive.

Problem with the BP9 (to me) is the trigger is too light for ccw duty. I tried one out, liked it a lot but my better judgement says carry a heavier trigger.

I had considered that Bersa, but as CNobble stated, the trigger is way too easy/light. That gun almost needs an external safety lever.

I can see where some may take issue with the trigger on the Bersa and that is their choice. However I don't have a problem with the trigger myself, if you carry the gun holstered and with proper handling it should not be an issue.

I tried the Shield, the Nano, the P938, and the CM9. Didn't like the trigger on the Shield, the trigger and the ergos on the Nano, the P938 had a great feel to it but was a bit pricey, and finally went with a CM9 when I found one with a really great trigger.

a Hogue grip sleeve makes a big difference in how a LC9s feels, the G43 is to big to be a small gun.

Of the two , I would take the Kahr CW9 over the Glock 43. That said , I prefer my PM9. Like others , I do not care for the very light trigger on the Bersa BPcc 9mm for conceal carry.

My grandson bought the Walther PPS and I shot it last week here at my farm range and was much impressed with it. An excellent choice for a CCW.

My new carry gun is a Sig P290rs in 9mm. 6+1 for carry with an 8+1 backup mag. Really like the DAO trigger for carry and its turning out to be a great shooter. Good carry trigger for me and bonus of reholstering with my thumb on the hammer. Not one issue so far and $400 with two mags, holster and rail mounted laser. Light and thin enough for very easy all day carry but, heavy enough to shoot nice with +P carry ammo.

I don't do well with the long DAO triggers so I doubt I'd try that Sig, but I appreciate the suggestion. :)

I looked at some Sig P938 Nightmare pistols on gunbroker, but they all seem to be going for a bit more than I want to spend on a carry gun.

As of right now, I'll wait out the Glock 43.

I shot a P938 today. Thought it handed recoil well, but I wasn't "sold on it". Also tried a Glock 42 but the slide release hit my thumb at my normal natural grip, so it caused the slide to no lock open on the last round. If the Glock 43 has the same issue, I'll not be getting one. I know the handle is a little bit bigger on the 43, so it's possible that it will push the release enough forward to where I won't be on it.

I'm to a point where I may just forget any new carry gun and just carry my old F.I. Industries Model D. . . . . . . but it probably isn't the best pistol for conceal carry. Just kinda bummed out on "the search".

Tried out a Walther PPS at Academy, yesterday, and unfortunately it also had an issue with how my thumb knuckle rides the slide release [which would cause a failure to hold open on the last round]. It's my natural way of gripping a pistol, so "changing my grip" isn't going to be an answer.

I think you have a training issue you should address about your current natural way you grip the handgun. How you position your thumb so as not to actuate the controls is something you will have to do with practice and muscle memory.

In my time with handguns I have found many that fit me well, but if for some reason my grip caused me to not shoot it well or bump the safety on or off, engaged or disengaged the slide stop or drop the magazine I figured out what I was doing wrong and corrected it.

Sometimes it may take another shooter to watch what you are doing to get some feedback on what problems he sees, and maybe make some suggestions for you to try to fix it.

Good Luck in your search.

My natural grip is basically how you're supposed to hold the gun. I don't have some weird way of holding it. I just think my thumb knuckle hits some slide releases and not others. But it is the traditional two hand, thumbs pointing down range style. I only have issues with pistols with the release too far back on the frame. I'm still going to take a look at the G43 when it is eventually released.

Orion8472: I am a Glock and XD fan both. But for CC my Wife and I carry a CW9 with a CT lazer on them every day, and have for several years. We think they are the best for us, and we shoot them alot with no problems what so ever. We both like the CW9`s trigger. We find them easy to shoot and very accurate. We find them very easy to CC and very comfortable and mine is in my pocket as we speak and my Wife has hers in her purse.

I did not shoot the CW9 well at all. Hits were all over the target. I couldn't get used to it. They DO feel good in the hand and I have no issue with the location of the slide release,. . . . . but I just can't do a long DAO trigger. And quite unfortunately, Kahr will only include the new Gen 2 trigger in their most expensive models, so Kahr is out for me.

Updated: In case I hadn't mentioned it before, I shot a CW9 a few days ago at a store with rentals, and that was my latest experience.

We thought about Glock 43s since we have Glock 42s. Then we shot our LC9s guns again. No more talk about the Glock or any other single stack 9 for that matter.
