I got Charter Arms replacement grips for my fathers undercover special. But it seems the washer that must be in one of the grips is not there. What can be used for a substitute?
How else can the grips be fitted without the specific washer?

Thanks

I’m not sure what you mean by “washer”, but if you can’t get it from the seller, you may try finding a machinist to duplicate the one you do have.

I discovered to my chagrin that often replacement grips do not come with the two parts (estuctcheons - thanks rc I would never have spelled that correctly without your help) needed to install the grips on a handgun, but are often sold separately. Best to contact the outfit that sold you the grips unless you have rc's skills and machinery to make your own. I lack both.

Unfortunately me too.

We have the one estuctcheon on the one side, its donated by the old grips:D
But we don't know what to do at the other end, on the screw-head.

I have found a nut with the right pitch. Put it on a sacrificial screw, chucked it in a Dremel, turned it on and used a file to "lathe" it round and to size.
