Also the fact that in most states, anything done while you're under 18, is removed from your record, once you turn 18.

that fluctuates from year to year based largely on oil prices. it is also tied into stock market/bonds/real estate profits, both based on how well they did the previous year.

Above all else you will need to make a living but:

SW Washington is hunting, fishing, shooting country. The climate is a bit on the wet side in winter but it can be glorious in summer.

Washington State just above Astoria, Oregon, (across the Astoria Bridge) is a very nice area for the outdoors if you can stand the quietness. Living costs are reasonable and there is a big CG operation on the mouth of the Columbia River. The area gets a bit busy in the tourist and fishing season but it is great the rest of the year if you really like green.
