WASHINGTON STATE PROPOSSED HANDGUN AMMO BILL --OH CRAP!

:cuss:

Ammo Serialization (Registration) Bill Proposed in Washington State!
Please Contact Your State Legislators Today!

Legislation has been proposed in Olympia that poses a very serious threat to our Right to Keep and Bear Arms and it needs to be stopped immediately.

House Bill 3359, HB3359 sponsored by State Representatives Al O’Brien (D-1), Brendan Williams (D-22), Dennis Flannigan (D-27), and Jamie Pedersen (D-43), would require that all handgun ammunition manufactured or sold in Washington to be coded with an individual serial number, and entered into a statewide database at the time of sale. Encoded ammunition would be registered to the purchaser and would include the date of transaction, the purchaser’s name, date of birth, driver’s license number, and the serial number of the ammunition.

This dangerous bill needs to be stopped now. HB3359 only serves to harass law-abiding gun owners, as criminals are not likely to purchase ammunition through legal channels. Please contact your State Senator and your State Representative today and respectfully urge them to oppose HB3359. Contact information for your State Legislators can be found by visiting

I posted this on another thread, just thought I'd share.

Did a quick read of the proposed bill in Washington.

This is kind of a rant, but there has to be a way to stop the useless legislation that keeps coming up….

The bill that is being proposed is a little vague regarding reloading. The ranges that I typically frequent save the brass and recycle it, to offset costs.

Maybe the plan is just to make it so expensive no law abiding tax payer that likes to go to the range can afford to. Either that or put the companies that are currently manufacturing out of business. Minus sales, plus add additional cost.... and the cost will go out of site.

Just wish that we could fine tax payers every time they submit a bill that fails, maybe increase the fine for multiple failures. Seems they think they can just keep submitting change and eventually it will get though. The amount of legislation might change if it hit their wallet instead of ours. Pay back a little of the time and money wasted with useless legislation.

Doc it right out of their check.... That might possibly get them to think a little before they submit legislation. I’m sure they would just find a way to ignore it eventually, like raising their salary or have a special penalty fund, but maybe it would help for a while. Kind of like how they legislate everything for us….turn about is fair play.

I"m planning on writting my representatives today...hopefully we can stop this junk....:banghead:

Mods,

Any chance we could get this bumped over to "Activism" for those of us in WA that need to start writing letters?

Regards,

U

A Big Plan - for PROFIT

There's a good thread on this over at AR15.com, shows how a company that stands to make big bucks from this is behind the lobbying effort, USE THAT when you write your letters - detail the profit motive by a private corporation hiring a paid lobbyist to move this...

Details over on AR15.com - we are also facing this in maryland, and Illinois, Hawaii, and tennessee have similar bills....

Get on your horse, fellas...let's shut these down!
