Washington state suppressor use - legal in home defense?

Good advice right there. I agree.

You don't have to get the local LEO to sign off if you go with a trust. Either way, you need to state the purpose of the suppressor on your form 4 for the BATFE. This should be the same reason you give the local LEO if you go that route. "Collecting and recreation" has worked for me every time and it is in fact the 'truth'. I know someone that used "Zombies" and this was approved by BATFE.
I think that most simply state "For all legal purposes."

"When you approach your sheriff to ask for the signing of an authorization to purchase/own a suppressor, and they ask why you want/need to own one, what do you say to that person that won't set off cuckoo alarms and make them deny you the signature?"

This has been covered quite a bit. On all of my NFA items its says "for collecting and recreation".

Others have used for "all legal purposes".

Heck some stuff has been approved by ATF with stuff such as "Chicks dig it", "Zombies", etc..
