Been a while since i have been on here and wanted to get some info and catch up on things here.
I just purchased a Weatherby Mark V Accumark in .270win. Just curious on thoughts about Weatherby and the round itself. 100/115/130/140/150gr. Federal, Remington, Winchester, HSM, Nosler, Barnes, Hornady. etc. For whitetail and coyote around here i will use a Vortex 2.5-10.
I have been using a 7mm- rem which I will continue using but the gun is over 35yrs old and heavy! With most of my hunting being done in the Midwest, I figured I would give the .270 a look. I am just starting to get back in to hunting from a lengthy hiatus so please forgive my ignorance
Also, the factory trigger on the Mark V Accumark, how good are they? I am waiting to receive my rifle in the next week.
One last question, on the factory stock, I want to mount a 1913 type bipod mount. I have narrowed it down to the Seekins SRS rail but not sure which one to get. I do realize that I will have to dril a second hole to mount a t-nut and I am not sure which style to go with: MCMILLAN 3.0" HOLE SPACING, BELL & CARLSON 2.5" HOLE SPACING or HS PRECISION 2.0" HOLE SPACING. I believe the McMillan is a bit curved to accommodate the shape of the stock? The bipod I will be using is the Atlas BT10-NC and LaRue LT271 QD Mount.
Sorry for all of the questions and Thanks in advance for your input!
