My brother has an inherited Weatherby Mk V and I think he's stuck the bolt. It appears that the bolt was removed with the safety on and I believe the sear is stuck to the rear and preventing the bolt from closing when reinstalled. I've scoured the internet looking for advice on this and found nothing.

Any experience with Weatherbys out there?

Well, I have a Weatherby Mk V in 460. Can you post a picture of the bolt? The bolt can't be opened on mine with the safety on, so maybe something else is going on.

For reference, here is the rear of my bolt:

I appreciate the responses...

It turns out the bolt was just WAY STIFF. My Dad owned the rifle and barely shot it and my younger brother who has little gun experience inherited it. It's squared away now.

Glad to hear you got it figured out. Now it's time to get to the range. :D What caliber is it by the way?
