Where is the O ring located on a Weatherby SA08 28 gauge shotgun? I bought this gun and I cannot find the O ring. thanks

If you have the manual it might help. unless to 28 is totally different from the 20 gage there is no O ring. however, there is a piston.

The manual does show an O ring but I cannot find one. The manual even says to put a drop of oil on the O ring. I looked for the O ring in the area of the barrel where the gas ports are located, the magazine tube, and the pistons. I hope you are right that there is no O ring. I cannot talk to Weatherby customer service until Monday. They are closed on Fridays. Thanks for your help.

Yep... The schematic for the 28 gage shows an O ring.. # 21.

Sometimes the O ring on the Remington 1100 can get stuck in the gas port of the barrel. check for that. wouldn't hurt.

There is an O ring in the sleeve that is attached to the barrel, it seals against the magazine tube to allow the gases to push the piston rearward. If it is missing , I would imagine you would not cycle the action at all or very poorly. At least that is the way my SA459 is built and I believe that they are nearly the same.
