Great gun for the money.
Got three of the older Vanguards. Bought a 257 mag. that shot sub-MOA with factory ammo. I like it so well that I buy them anytime I find a bargain. Bought a 30-06 NIB for $280+shipping and traded for a 300 Weatherby mag at the last gunshow. Also have 2 Howas. All five have smooth actions, decent triggers and are a bargain. I understand that the Vanguard 2 is guaranteed sub-MOa out of the box. The Vanguards that I have do not have a book written the barrel. Don't know about the V2's.

I love em. they're a bit heavy but not enought to put on a diet. I have 4 of the older Vanguards. 270wsm that shoots lights out, a brand new 30-06 that become a 338-06 or 35 whelen, a vanguard backcountry in 300 wby, and just found a used sub moa 338 win mag that I haven't even shot yet. as you can tell, I think they're swell
