Hello

I'm trying to see if anyone out there had rebarreled a Weatherby vanguard .
I know the specs are 26mm with a 1.5 pitch however I was looking for info on cutting the counter bore for the bolt nose. I have a cutter for a .705 for the Remington 700. But it appears to be too big. Anyone that has any info it would be great. I called ptg and they do not have a cutter and Weatherby said they cannot give out the specs for the counterbore

I have the dimensions in my shop notes at home. I won't be back for a couple of weeks.
You can determine the recess dimensions from the bolt nose. The depth needs to be a few thousandths more than the dimension from the end of the bolt to the front of the locking lugs. Likewise, the diameter should just clear the OD of the bolt nose with a little extra clearance for the "m-16 style" extractor. The Remington tool might be just right. Double check by pushing the extractor as far up as possible and taking a measurement. Actually, a little extra clearance there does not hurt.
