Weaver Handgun Scope Deal

Don't know much about it, but found a deal on binoculars.com for a Weaver 2.5-8x28 matte handgun scope. Selling for $98 shipping included. The best price I could find anywhere else was twice that! Anyhow, I realize it's not a Leupold, but I still hear decent talk about the Weavers (and though they're not made in the U.S., they are made in Japan, not China or the Phillipines).

Anyway, I'm not affiliated with binoculars.com or Weaver. Just wanted to share what sounded like a pretty good deal on a pistol scope. Let me know if you have any opinions pro or con towards the Weaver.

I used to have a Weaver 2x on a S&W 617. Sold it with the gun a few years back. Great Scope. I'd buy another one in a minute. The Optic Zone has good prices on them.

That's a screaming deal. I put that same exact scope on my .357 Herrett. Talked to a dealer that shoots Contenders in competition. He claimed the Weaver was better than Leupold or Burris. After using it, I'd say he's right. IIRC, mine was about $150 thru Midway.

Got my scopes today (2). Good optics and no hassles. One piece tube, made in Japan. Think they still have this deal if anyone is interested ($98 each and free shipping for a normally $200 scope).

Those that have one, I have one question - when changing the magnification does the eye relief change or is it constant? Meaning from low to high do you have to move the gun back or forward in relation to your eye to maintain a full view?
