Greeting's All-
I'm wondering where manufactuer's came across the common weight of
39 ozs for 1911's. Is this the perfect weight, and did JBM's first samples
weigh in at that weight? The reason I'm asking is the fact that my brand
new stainless S&W 1911 (108282) seems a lot heavier than either my Les
Baer Thunder Ranch Special, or the Springfield G.I.'s and MIL SPEC. Or is
it just an assumption I'm making because the gun is made of stainless?
