Maybe it was something I ate, but I had the weirdest dream.

I was at a shooting facility of some kind. It was a weird mix of shooting range and a store. There were targets on the walls interspersed with merchandise.

I'd brought two rifles. One was in a caliber that must have been something like a .17hrm, because I remember warning people that the round was small but noisy.

There were people milling about downrange, looking at the merchandise on the walls. I was about to take a shot at a target when a little kid walked in front of it. I yelled out that this was a hot range, and people should leave the area.

When I fired the .17hrm, or whatever it was, there was no shot. Instead, the case had turned green and was bulged out in the shape of a propane cannister. I tried another shot, and the same thing happened.

I decided to switch to my AR. I got my sights lined up and pulled the trigger. Nothing. I looked in the chamber, and the bullet was still in the case mouth. But it had shred into dozens of thin metal strips. It looked sort of like a broom.

There were other weird things in the dream, but I've forgotten them.

I think that ranks as the worst range experience I've ever had. ;)

I actually had a wierd dream last night about running around shooting blackpowder guns (I have no idea at what, or why, or where I was shooting...just that it was blackpowder)....something I've never done before in my life...heck I've never even HELD a blackpowder gun.

I blame the Beverly Hillbilly's thread......

Speaking of weird dreams...

About a month ago, I had this really whacky dream.

I was at a gun shop I'd never been to before. It was rather small but it had a very good selection. Anyway, I had settled on a Chinese SKS. I don't even know why because I don't even care for SKS's, but in my dream I was just dying to buy one. The price was $429 out the door, but inside I was screaming, "Hey, I think that's way too much to be paying for an SKS!" But I wrote out my dream check for $429 and went on my merry way.

Then I went to buy ammo at a local gunshop. There was a female behind the counter and I asked her where the .223 ammunition was. (I know. The SKS uses 7.62x39, but my SKS shot .223/5.56 for some strange dream reason.) Smiling, the clerk pointed to a shelf behind me and I saw that there was one box left. The price? $401.50 for a box of 20!!!!! Inside I was screaming again, but I just had to have it.

"My," the female clerk said as I wrote out the check, ".223's are getting really expensive nowadays, aren't they?"

When I looked up to answer her, I immediately recognized who she was for the first time in the dream.

The clerk was Hillary Clinton.

True dream story, so help me!

:uhoh:

McCall911 wins this round, I think :)

I did have a dream just a few nights ago that there was some sort of bad event happening, such that I was nervously carrying around an AK style rifle and trying to locate some friends of mine to make sure they were able to get to a safe place; I knew most of them were unarmed. It was an odd mix of fear and gratitude to know where my own gun was, while most people were unable to find one.

PS.
I'm afraid to tell that dream to a pro-gun doctor for fear that he might want to have me committed.

I think I'll lay off the pizza for a while...

while you were asleep... "mmmm... a gun that turns ammo into propane and propane accessories... I tell you what"

nice dream, Hank Hill.

hehe, joking aside, dreams are a glimpse into the unconcious mind. I know what it is, you are thinking about grilling, spring cleaning, shooting, range saftey, and gun shoping all at the same time... hehe.

If you find one of the ultra rare .223 SKS's in the waking world for a mere $429 BUY IT. Not many were imported.
